It is truly amazing how Sims 1 (specifically) still has such a huge community of players. I've gotten to know them more and more as the years have gone by, and it seems like it was worth it that we never let it drop, always hoping that there would be in fact a re-release at some point.
The only downside is that there's almost zero chance of a remaster of the 25-year-old game, which, given its age would be VERY necessary (for several reasons).
What we do know for a fact is that, it won't be a free distribution like they've done in the past with some other Sims games. Both Sims 1 and Sims 2 will be able to run on Windows 10 and 11. But we know that EA (IF THEY WANTED TO) could do much more than that.
I want to show you some options that I'd love to see in the case of a Sims 1 remaster. I made this edit where I changed almost everything on the "Create Your Sim" screen, such as:
1. Randomize button; now THAT would be great. Even though there are few customization options in Sims1, some of my gameplays at least, don't focus exactly on the character's look, so it would be great to go straight to the game, not to mention the times when we need a little push in creativity and storytelling for a new gameplay.
2. Another thing I added was the creation of a teenager, it would certainly be very easy for them to add something like that to the game at this point. If even modders have already managed to do it...! Goddamit!
3. I don't know about you, but a preview of your Sim's face would be SO GOOD. I always need to 'finish' the Sim just to check the thumbnail and see if I really like it.

4. As for the skin color, I left it as it is, but then I thought that ideally, the skin could be EASILY separated from the clothing itself. The color could be as easy to choose as a color palette in a generic image editor. Original Maxis skins could allow customization, while the CC (custom content) skins could still work normally as they are.
5. More specific personality traits. Originally, we have very few options (Neat/Extroverted/Active/Playful/Nice), and it is understood that, the lower the bar, the fewer traits he has of that particular trait. If I don't add "Extroverted" points, he will immediately be Introverted, right? These 5 options are great, but they are still so limited. It is understandable that, at the time, there were all these limitations, but it would be very interesting to be able to have more control over personality in Sims 1 for once.
The image above is self-explanatory, nothing like simple color options to choose from, just like was added in the next Sims games. It would make a lot of difference when decorating your home. Fewer limitations are always welcome.
Also, guys, keep in mind that the adaptation of a possible Remaster, for the countless CCs/Mods already existing, that were made with so much dedication throughout this 20-year period, is simply
ESSENTIAL.
These people are still around to this day, and it's thanks to them that the game has remained up-to-date for this entire time, and NOT thanks to EA, who we know has only ONE intention behind these re-releases.
Still, I can't deny that I'm very happy with the re-release and still hopeful that a remaster will happen in the future. Having said that, let's order some pizza.
